tube amp head → Suhr Line-Out Box → stereo fx → Matrix stereo power amp → 3 4x12 cabs. (center cab fed from Suhr’s speaker thru)
This has always worked great, in that once I get unity volume between the Tube Amp & Matrix, I never have to touch the Matrix volume again - the tube amp volume will then act as an overall master volume raising & lowering all 3 cabs in unison. Perfect.
This changed when I added the PS-100 (using its line out) and removed the Suhr Line Out Box. Now when I change the tube amp’s volume, the wet cab volume no longer follows it. That requires me to readjust the Matrix volume to once again achieve unity volume.
This is a deal breaker for me. Any idea why this happening and if there’s a way to make it behave more similar to the Suhr Line Out box?
The power station’s line out will produce a signal proportional to your head’s output volume. That should feed your stereo FX unit.
The problem I think, is that you are using the PS-100 for your dry signal; this is an entirely separate amplifier. So you have an extra volume control to adjust now.
Once you set the volume to the way you like and the whole rig sounds good. What happens when you turn your amp down? Do you find that the wet signals reduce faster than the dry? Is that the issue?
If I have not understood, please sketch (by all means, badly) a rig connection diagram.
Hi all
I have the exact same set up as SonVolt. Went from Suhr iso line out and all was fine with my wet cab’s volume matching my main amps volume adjustments.
However when I switched to using the PS-100, I volume matched the wet cab to my dry cab and all is fine. HOWEVER, when I switch to the other channel on the PS-100 (which is set a little higher for solos), my wet cab stays at the same volume (effects don’t get louder)
I tried using the effect send and the line out on the PS-100 to the wet cab power amp with no luck.
How can I get the wet cab and the dry cab to act in unison when switching channels on the PS-100?
Thanks
