ZMACS Buttons Sticking

I purchased a new ZMACS back in August of 2025. A couple of the buttons are now sticking when pushed. The button for the AMP impedance will get stuck when pushed and eventually pop back out on its own. The impedance for the amp will change. The LOOP button also gets stuck when pushed, but will not pop back out. It takes some manual wiggling to get the button to pop back out so the button is once again usable to change the setting.

Before I spray a tiny bit of Deoxit on the those 2 buttons, I wanted to make sure that’s the best course of action to take or if this might be indicative of a larger problem with this unit.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum!

This may be caused by a tight tolerance between the switch cap (the black part) and panel hole. Deoxit won’t hurt the switch, so that’s worth a try. Just use it very sparingly.

If it’s still an issue we could send you a couple of new switrch caps to try.

Hi Dave! Thanks for answering my questions. I used a little Deoxit and it improved things a little. Those two buttons are still sticking a bit. However, knowing it’s the tolerances of the size of the plastic caps and nothing internal, I’m not too concerned. If things for some reason get worse or more buttons start to exhibit similar issues, I may take you up on some replacement caps. I’m good for now though.

Cheers!
