The unit had about 4 hours of use spread over the course of 5 days. I noticed it was running excessively hot. Right before it blew, I noticed the tube on the left (when facing the front of the amp) had a super bright red/orange glow. At the point, a very high pitch sound came through my speaker cab, and then a loud pop sound. I quickly powered off the unit. I could not touch the unit for a few minutes due to the excessive heat. Hopefully this unit did not damage anything else in my system: that sound that came through my cab, the cables conected to the unit (they were hot when I unplugged), or the Soldano head the unit was sitting on.
Hi Chad, Very sorry to hear about the issue with your PS-100. That is most definitely a power tube failure. This would not cause any damage to your amp, cab or cables.
Please click this button and fill out the form: Parts Request
We can send you replacement power tubes and an internal fuse or we can issue you an RMA and shipping label to get the unit sent back to us for service. Thanks! Gil

Hi @1Desperado,
I’m really sorry you have had this experience! This is a tube failure and, as you noticed, has been happening a lot. We are working with our tube supplier; they have identified the problem. The fix is for us to send you replacement tubes and fuses free of charge. To start that process, please follow these instructions: How can I make a replacement part request?
Regards,
Dan
Randy, We are sending you a replacement set of power tubes and a fuse. This will resolve the problem and it’s an easy job to install them. Sorry we did not get these to you sooner. Get another PS-100 and keep these just in case. Cheers! Gil
