Originally, it as CH A. After reading the other thread, I cycled the power tubes from A to B and split them up too. The power drop/popping followed the tubes.
Looking for an actual remedy/resolution, as it stands I only have a single usable channel.
Hi Jason, Welcome to the Fryette Forum! If I’m understanding you correctly, you simply need to replace the tubes that are causing the problem. Be sure to purchase a matched pair of 6L6s. This should resolve the issue. How long have you owned the LXII? Gil
Hi Gil,
I got it from Electric Mojo Guitars in December 2024. Honestly, I haven’t used it much because of the issue but was rewiring the studio racks this weekend and thought I should figure it out.
I do have some other sets of 6L6s I could use but that would leave those amps empty. Do I need a matched pair or matched quad?
Ideally you would replace all 4 power tubes with a new matched quad. But since you stated that it was only one pair of tubes that were causing the issue, it’s ok to have two different pairs of tubes as long as the tubes in pair match one another and are installed into the individual amp channels accordingly. What is the serial number?
