Maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t see how the From PS Line Out is useful?
Line out is good for running into a DAW or IR loader.
Maybe this will help. There are other videos that look at various ways to use the Line Out. Just search “Fryette Power Station Line Out” on youtube.

I totally see how the Line Out from the PS is useful in general, but specifically for the Cyclops, why is the line out from the PS plugged back into the Cyclops useful? What purpose does that have?
Connecting the Line Out from the Power Station (PS) back into the Cyclops is beneficial because it allows you to utilize the re-amplification feature of the Power Station, while integrating the signal flow with both a preamp and amplifier. Here’s why it can be useful:
- Routing flexibility: By plugging the Line Out from the Power Station into the Cyclops, you can switch between using the Power Station as an attenuator or amplifier and routing its signal back through the Cyclops to control whether you’re sending that signal to a preamp or a direct amp input.
- Balancing levels: The Cyclops has a Preamp Level switch which allows you to boost the preamp’s output to match the amplifier’s volume. This is particularly useful if you’re running different devices at once (e.g., a preamp and an amp), ensuring consistent levels.
- Isolation: The Cyclops is designed with transformer isolation to eliminate ground loops, which is key when running complex rigs with multiple devices such as amps and preamps together.
Essentially, this setup helps maintain signal integrity, avoids potential hum issues, and ensures that all devices operate harmoniously, whether you’re switching between amps or integrating a modeler, preamp, or other gear .
Does this mean that you cannot use the line out of the PS2 to send the DI signal back to an audio interface if you’re using the Cyclops?
The primary purpose of the Cyclops is to allow you to switch between an amplifier connected to the Power Station’s reactive load and a preamp that is connected to the Power Station’s Line In. That way, you can select which unit to play through without unhooking anything, and you will still be able to utilize the FX Loop of the PS for either the preamp or head.
The PS-2 Line Out will still send a signal out of the XLR out when the Cyclops is set to AMPLIFIER mode. When the Cyclops is set to PREAMP mode, it will mute the amplifier connected to it, so no signal will be present at the XLR Line Out.

@DavidPhelge Thank you for this response. I have a pretty intricate bedroom setup where I’m running multiple amps and cabinets into a Delisle amp/cab switcher with the PS hooked up as the attenuator. The Cyclops now allows me to run a modeler through the cabinet switcher and I’m happy to hear that I can still use the line out to send the direct output when using “Amplifier” mode.
Happy to say that I tested it today and it works perfectly. Thanks!
I have pretty much the same going.
That’s a sweet setup! What did you use to showcase your setup as I’d like to do my own mothership outline.
I used LucidChart, but there’s a bunch of similar programs. Draw.io I believe is free and quite capable.
Cool thanks. Coincidentally I just subscribed to LucidCharts yesterday for some work items so perfect timing!
What’s really fun is using ALL OF THE INS AND OUTS!
