I’m getting an odd almost robotic feedback ish sound the louder I turn up my amps. Currently tested with my Synergy Syn20IR 20 watt head and my MLC subzero 100 head. If I turn the volume up past 3-4 on either head while using the PS-100 to attenuate, the Fryette introduces this odd noise. Neither amp does it by themselves. I have tried swapping out cables enabling and disabling the ground lifts and have used an isolation transformer from my guitar to the amps. I have the impedance set correctly on all of the equipment matching the impedance of the speaker cab. Any ideas? Does it need repair? I’ve had the PS 1 for about a year but rarely have used it. Probably only has maybe 8 hours of use since purchasing.
Hi Harymo,
Is this unit a PS-100 or a PS-1? Or do you have both? Also, when you say 3 or 4, you mean 3 or 4 on a number scale not 3 or 4 o’clock, correct?
Thank You,
Terry
It’s a PS-100. And yes I mean when the amplifier heads I own are turned up around 3-4 out of 10. I’m talking that they aren’t cranked up at all, not even half way. One of the heads is a synergy 20 watt head and the other is an MLC Subzero 100 watt. I will have to try and make you a video. There’s no problem when I use the line in with a modeler into the PS-100. Only when I try to use it as an attenuator with a regular tube amp.
