Hello,
I’m having an issue where I get a significant volume drop on my ps-100 when the Cyclops ‘TO PS Line In’ is plugged into my PS-100’s Line In (if anything is plugged into the Line In this happens). The volume drop is when I’m playing through my tube amp (Bad Cat Era 30 in this case).
My full setup is complicated, but here goes…
Guitar > Source Audio Zio > RJM MEGX loop switcher (input buffer enabled) with several pedals in the loops (all bypassed in this case)
MEGX Out > Cyclops In
Cyclops:
Preamp In > Synergy SYN2 In
Preamp Out > Synergy SYN2 Out
Amp Input > N-Audio 8x7 Amp Switcher In, N-Audio routes to my Bad Cat and to a 2x12 cab
From PS Line Out > PS-100 Line Out
To PS Line In > PS-100 Line In
PS-100 Effects loop Send/Return goes to a Morningstar ML10X loop switcher that sends to a handful of effects pedals. I bypassed the PS-100’s effects loop and there was no noticeable change in volume (volume drop still happens with the Line In plugged in).
To rule out the N-Audio, I ran the PS-100 direct to my Era 30 and cabinet, no change in behavior.
The Era 30 doesn’t have anything in its effects loop.
When the Line In is plugged in and I switch to my SYN2, the volume is what I’d expect.
I toggled the preamp level, and ground lift on the cyclops - no change
I toggled the FX Level and Ground Lift on the PS-100, the FX level increased the volume, but not to the level it should be (and the FX level Hi is too hot for my setup)
I’ve also tried different cables running to the line in, no change. Tried a different preamp (Tone King Imperial Preamp Pedal), no change…
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew
