VHT 50/12: Scratchy noise. Dirty pots? Other?

Hello,

I have some errant noise in my 50/12 I’d love to be rid of. I am sure one source is the volume pot for the green channel. When turning it between 9:00 and 11:00, it’s quite loud and scratchy.

Does Fryette recommend/not recommend spraying cleaner into the pots? Approved for use cleaner of course.

Would this contribute to noise even when not turning the pot? There’s some intermittent noise then, and even with nothing plugged into the amp. The noise doesn’t get much louder even with the amp cranked.

You can use pot cleaner, such as DeOxit. Please use it SPARINGLY. It doesn’t take much and you don’t want to flood out the pot too much.
