I am new to this “IR” (impulse response) thing. The port on the GPDI/IR for loading IR files: Is that a USB port? What type is this ? I have flash drives but this port looks different. My computer does not have a port like this so I don’t know how I can even download IR files for the GPDI/IR. Maybe there is some type of adapter? Forgive my ignorance…like I said…I’m a new arrival.
It’s a USB-C port. Turn the power off to the GPDI/IR and connect a USB-A to USB-C cable. The GPDI/IR will appears as a USB stick so you can manage the files in the device. Please read the user manual. It covers all this.
OK. Maybe there is an updated user manual. The one I downloaded from Fryette says NOTHING about how this “IR” stuff works. The only place this port is mentioned is on the FRONT PANEL FUNCTIONS , Page 7, Item 23. It reads… USB-Access port for loading your own IRs. That’s it. If there is more detailed info on this , it’s not in this manual and I have read it cover to cover twice. I am guessing that I connect the USB-A to USB-C cable from the GPDI/IR to my computer? This is where the GPDI/IR will appear? Then what? As I metioned to you before..I am STOOPIDLY NEW at this.
Hi JC
“STOOPIDLY NEW”… no problem!
You are right, the manual should cover a bit more about this. It appears in more detail in the Power Load IR user manual. It’s the same procedure:
Thank you so much!! This is just what I needed!! CHEERS!!!
