The Kahayan amp switcher I have has an attenuator loop that I want to run the PS-2A through.
There will be times I won’t require the use of the Power Station.
My question is, are the Amp In and Speaker Out jacks essentially true bypass throughs when the unit is not turned on?
I understand that if the unit is on, I can bypass the unit, but I’m trying to get clarity on if I need to turn it on at all in scenarios when it’s not required.
I want to make sure my amps are safe and loaded downstream to the cabs with no change.
If the Power Station is off, it is complete bypassed. This includes the impedance matching transformers and all of the switches as well. Total bypass. You do not need to keep it on if you don’t want to. When bypassed, the amplifier is connected directly to the cabinet, or in your case it’s like the send of the attenuator loop is connected directly to the return. I hope that helps.
Thanks Terry, glad to be here and I appreciate your response!
Good to know, this makes the Power Station even more easy to integrate into rigs.
The PS-2A sounds super good and couldn’t be easier to use. The volume taper is outstanding. The reactive load is awesome, is a smidge brighter and fatter than when bypassed with my rig, so I hope I don’t end up liking that too much lol.
Sounds great when activated and re-amped!
