hey gang , has anyone experienced their syn 50/50 power amp having the fan surge high and low. mine will go up and down for 15 seconds then drop back to normal speed. vents are clean and impedance is set properly.. I read than its normal but want to make sure. I don’t want to send it back to seller if it’s normal. thanks

The Syn 5050 has a temperature sensor that determines fan speed. It reads the temp of the power tube on the far left.
If that power tube is not straight in its socket, that could cause erratic fan behavior. An intermittent plug-in connection between the temp sensor board and the main board could also cause this.
Fortunately, they are both minor issues and easy to repair.

Hi all, I am having this same issue and I’ve checked to make sure the tubes are straight.
Could someone possibly point me to where the temp sensor is on the board so I can at least visually be sure it’s not loose?
I noticed the power light on the front is going in and out when the fans surge as well.
