Listen to any chord/notes that are sustained and you’ll hear it in the background. It happens on all outputs of the device, even the speaker. Some settings make it more noticeable - I don’t really hear it on higher gain sounds. …but it’s enough to where I wouldn’t record with this device, and that’s a real bummer and mostly why I bought it and why I think it exists! My unit came with the power tube in the wrong socket. I don’t know if that could have caused the issue or not. I did change try changing the power tube to an EHX one for more head room like the manual suggests. That didn’t really help. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

I can definitely use the tips there to keep the clean channel clean and drop the staticy-undertone (I don’t know what to call this!). …but it’s really difficult to remove it and get mid-gain sounds from the deliverance channel. The vast majority of the presets from the previous generation are not usable on my unit even when I compensate levels on the poweramp volume & IR level.
I’m not sure if it’s because my pre-amp experience is basically limited to the infamous ADA MP-1. The gain 1 & 2 on that unit can be dialed in freely until you get the result you want. I’m finding with the GPDI/IR that I can go super clean or pretty hot w/ no problems, but the in-between tones, especially w/ the Deliverance, get chewed up w/ this undertone issue. I still don’t hear this on youtube demos which is making me wonder if my unit has an issue. Did the clip I posted sound correct to you guys? I realize I’m probably being pedantic, but it’s soooooo close to being the perfect piece of gear right now.

And other than being blown away by the beautiful tone and playing, here is the advice.
Look at the master volume setting. It’s basically at full volume and getting into clipping. Switching the Deliv mode adds onset of cathode follower clipping. In other words, it sounds just as intended and it’s lovely with whatever guitar that is together with the chord progression he’s playing.
Play a Fender or Marshall at onset of clipping and that’s what it would sound like.
Leave it set to Clean mode, turn down Gain II and the MV down a bit to clean it up, but I would leave it alone. I love the way it sounds.
The EH 12DW7 is a cleaner tube with a bit more headroom, so what he’s describing is that it’s working exactly as intended.
Moreover, the advice from the factory is that you are hearing what normal tube amps do at normal playing volumes, but it is masked at normal band volumes. Hopefully the advice on clean channel and settings helps you get rid of it.
Thanks so much for the feedback and kind words. It really helps a lot knowing this is expected, can be worked around, and the unit doesn’t need servicing. Not knowing makes my OCD-tendencies spiral. 
I spent some more time dialing in different in-between sounds last night and I was loving it. It really is an impressive little amp!
