Hello, I’ve owned my 2902 for a couple years now and I love it. I am curious if you can provide me with a part number for the switches used for the standby switches. The switch for my channel B’s standby has failed and is latched in the always on position regardless of switching it on and off. If you can provide replacements at no cost that would be even better. This power amp is not that old and the switches should not be failing already. Please provide parts or a part number, Thank you.
We can definitely do that for you Collin. Use the link below to begin the process. Thanks! Gil
I replaced the switch on channel B and it only lasted 1 day. Is it possible one of the capacitors is bad on that switch?
Is there a schematic available so I can trouble shoot?
Are you sure the switch is bad? They last a very long time. How did you determine it is bad?
It might be worth arranging a service with a local repair shop now. We can work with them should they need additional input.
I’m not paying someone else to do something I am more than capable of doing myself. I have an EE degree, work in electronics design, and have worked on and with tube and solid state amplifiers for many years in both audio and RF. I can provide proof of this if necessary. There is no reason why we should not be able to fix the issue without getting a third party involved. I know the switch has gone bad because the previous one went bad in the same manner. Channel A has the original switch and it works fine. The channel B switch failed and when I had it in the off position it would still pass signal. Channel A in the off position does not pass signal. I ordered replacement switches from you and installed a new one in the channel B position. The switch at this point worked as expected. However, after switching it a few times it also failed. So, I can only assume that there is a cap hanging off this switch in order to absorb the switching transient so the contacts do not arc and fail.
