Silent Recording

Hello  , I hope this finds someone, I can’t see for the life of me find a video with a 100% straight answer for something. I got a Mesa/Boogie Mark Iv with a cab that I love in a" 4 cable method" with my axe-fx 3. My question before I buy one is Can I record silently with the attenuation at zero with a cab plugged in so just in case I want to hear my real cab and not my monitors and vise versa? I know this topic has been talked about but I still cant seem to find anyone with my exact needs, its always one or the other. so is it posable to do both and how has it worked if it can be done. Thank You so much I’m really hoping to buy one soon.

If I understand the question right, then yes, you can.

The Power Station needs to be turned on, with the standby disengaged.

Volume = 0 means you’re recording silently. Turn the volume up to get sound out of your speakers at your desired volume.

The other approach is to not have the Power Station turned on. Then silent recording means the amp is plugged in to the Power Station, and no speaker is connected. If you want volume from your cab, just connect the Power Station’s speaker output to your cab input.

THANK YOU!!!, I’m gonna be getting on now, My end goal was to make sure I could have my speaker and amp plugged into the Power Station and switch back and forth at will. thank you for taking the time to comment back. I’ve watched every youtube video about silent recording and everyone only talks about 1. how to set up cables and 2.BOOM this is what is sounds like recorded. lol, Never about the volume or how even the direct level volume works.
