We just received a PS-2A ordered from one of your official resellers and it was shipped in just the retail box, no outside packaging. Is this how they’re supposed to be shipped? (I would have expected it to be inside a bigger box with some bubble wrap or peanuts.)
If it should have been better packed, any recommendations on how to test to make sure everything is ok?

Yes, this is how the Power Station ships. There are foam inserts that suspend the unit and add protection.
If you want a staged turn-on process, first have the black power switch in BYPASS and turn on the GREEN power switch. This will turn on the heaters to the tubes. Give it a few minutes and then check if you can see the usual red glow.
Now, connect very basic setup with your amp if it’s a head,
