My equipment includes a Soldano X88IR, a Marshall JCM800 SC20H, and a Tonex Pedal.
Question 1: When connecting the Soldano X88IR to the PS100 and using the PS100’s power amp function, should I connect the main output of the X88IR to the Line In interface of the PS100?
Question 2: Both the X88IR and the PS100 have FX Loop interfaces. Which FX Loop would you recommend using for connecting external effects?
Question 3: I came across the Cyclops device. If I connect the X88IR to the Line In of the PS100 and the Marshall SC20H to the Amp In of the PS100, and only use one of these devices at a time(other device is power off), would I still need the Cyclops device?
Sorry for the delay, I’ve been slow here because I need to go and read the manuals for all the gear you mentioned.
Q1. Yes, Line level Out to a Line level In
Q2. No right way. When using Power Station Amp In the effects can be applied after the power amp. This is unique with the Power Station. However, with Line In I would not expect too much difference between using the preamp loop and the Power Station loops. It depends on location of the loop in the preamp signal chain of course.
Q3. The Cyclops saves you the hassle of unplugging those cables and makes them switchable. You can do what you said in a recording environment but not live. So depends on use case.
