Safe to run the PS-2 on 10 for a few hours?

For some reason I always find it a bit nerve-racking to turn the Fryette Power Station PS-2 up past three-quarters. Just for peace of mind: is it actually safe to run the Power Station fully open at 10 and play through it for a few hours?

Depends on what you’re driving it with.

With a typical drive signal, anything past 10 0’clock is beyond maximum output power.

Sorry for the late reply, but I don’t think I completely understand your answer.

I have a 1964 Blonde Bassman, and without the Fryette Power Station it’s just a little too loud for rehearsals with the bassman’s volume on the sweet spot. With the Power Station, I usually have the PS-2’s volume set around 9 o’clock.

Would it be safe to run the Power Station with the volume between 3 and 5 o’clock (roughly three-quarters to nearly full) for rehearsals and live shows on a regular basis?

Or would it be better in this case to set the INPUT LEVEL switch to LO instead of HIGH? Would that give me more headroom, or does it only change the sweep of the volume knob?
