I’d like to record silent sometimes from my tube amps into PS-2A into Logic Pro, but I’m unable to track with a cab in real time. I’m only able to add it in Space Designer as an insert after it’s recorded. Perhaps this is more of a Logic forum question?
Otherwise I may need a Cab sim pedal like a Two Notes or something.
Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!
Hi Picker,
Welcome to the forum!
So I’ve done this with a third party plug-in in Logic Pro but never in space designer. Usually you would just select the track, add Audio FX, select your IR loader or Amp Designer (minus an amp) and go. There may be a good amount of latency without hardware or depending on your interface and computer. Maybe this is something that happens with a newer version of Logic Pro I don’t have. What version are you running? What Version of the Mac OS are you running as well?
Thank You,
Terry
Thanks Terry!
I have the latest version Logic 11.2.2 and running on a Mac Studio M2.
I have some York IRs that I use but even with Space Designer as an IR loader and software monitoring unchecked I still can’t audition or track with IRs, it’s that fizzy nasty sound. But once I track something Space Designer works fine.
Pretty uninspiring to track that way, lol, next to impossible actually. Maybe it is because of the latest update? I watched the video from Fryette about this and he doesn’t go into detail about logic setup which means it should just work..
Just trying options before I have to purchase a hardware IR loader
Hi Picker,
I’m not sure unfortunately on this one. I’m pretty sure you have to use the software monitoring in order to audition your plug ins live. If you find another way, please be sure to share it for other members here.
Thank You,
Terry
When I check Software Monitoring it then runs through UAD Console which I can either track or just monitor plugins but sadly UA doesn’t support third party plugin or has an IR loader…Boo!
Thanks for trying, I’ll let you know if I figure it out
Cheers!
