Radial BigShot EFX V2 in PS2A fx loop?

Hi there good folks of the forum.

I have a PS-2A and sometimes think it’s a shame I didn’t go for the PS-100 almost exclusively for the switchable FX loop.

Sometimes I want to put effects in the loop and sometimes I don’t want the loop there at all depending on the use case. However, once the PS2 is all racked up, I don’t really want to be scrambling around behind the rack unit.

I came across this product… The Radial BigShot EFX V2 And I was wondering whether I’d be able to leave that permanently wired in the loop and use the true bypass function when I don’t want any effects at all. This means that I effectively have two versions of the dry signal and therefore it will compromise my main signal?

Sorry if this seems like a daft question. I’m definitely more of a musician than I am an engineer! It seems to me like a relatively easy way to get closer to that functionality without having to trade my PS2 for a PS 100

Thanks to all for any help

Alex.

Hello, Yes, the BigShot EFX will work just fine for the purpose you are intending. It’s a good work around just as you stated. It also has an extra loop available that you may or may not find a use for. Be sure to use high quality cables to make all of your connections. Cheers! Gil

Hey that’s great news - thanks for your response Gil, it’s much appreciated! I think the extra loop would be useful for auditioning different FX chains.

Have a great weekend
