Greetings!
My wall voltage here in New York (USA) measures 122 V, and so I use an AmpRx BrownBox to set the input voltage to my vintage tube amps to a typical max of 115 V.
Note that the BrownBox provides for two outputs at the user-adjusted voltage setting.
The PS2A specifies 117 V for input voltage.
Question 1: Should I expect the PS2A to safely handle the 122 V input?
Question 2: Would the PS2A be “happier” with the 115 V from the BrownBox?
My inclination is to use the BrownBox for both the tube amp and PS2A.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Hi @SonRed
A line voltage between 115 V and 122 V is perfectly normal and safe. It’s well within standard limits and only 117V ±3% Also, your line voltage of 122V will vary during the day and depends on how much other people are using power. Hope that helps ![]()
Yes, this helps, thanks @dan.
The PS2A brings new life to my old amps!
