Hello people
I have a ps2a which i love using , but lately it developed a problem when on operate mode
There is a low frequency hum that comes in when the ps2a goes from bypass to operate. If i connect an amp head, there is a sound coming out but on the background the hum doesn’t go away. The hum isnt affected by any changes is presence, volume, ground lift etc. i have checked the tubes, the fuzes, changed outlets , cables. Nothing seems wrong. Could this be just a bad tube( i havent try to replace the tubes yet, just re-insert them ) or something more serious?
Thanks everyone in advance
I found this forum while Google searching why my fryette ps-2a has a loud hum when I put it in operate. It didn’t use to hum this loud so maybe it’s tubes but then I see it’s common issue.
I’m currently using it to power a 2nd cab in stereo coming off the right channel of a multi effects so no amp connected to it. Neither my Synergy Syn 50 or EVH 5150 stealth hum anything near this loud. I seen another thread on this forum where several people overseas were having the same issue and they weren’t getting very far with Fryette staff responses. Fryette needs to quit pretending this isn’t a real issue with so many people experiencing it! I’m in California so my unit is a USA version. To be honest I was pretty discouraged with the replies from Fryette staff I seen in the other thread regarding this hum issue
I would have responded to that thread but it’s from last year and it’s closed.
