Hi, I have a PS2A and when I use the effects loop four cable method with my helix effects loop send and return there is a noticeable drop in high end. The effects loop on the PS 2A and the helix both work just fine when plugged into regular pedals but not when used together. I’ve tried both hi and low outputs on the PS2A and ground switching, different cables. But everything I try produces the same result when those two units are connected through effects loop. This high end loss doesn’t happen if I run directly into my amp first and then just run the helix strictly as an effects loop. This high end loss only happens when there are four cables plugged in, one to the guitar in on the helix, one from the guitar out on the helix and the effects send and return on the helix and PS2A .

I think you have a phase cancellation issue caused by a ground loop, especially as it goes away when you change the Helix’ position. Do you have an audio isolator? Try adding that in the FX send and see if that breaks the loop.
Hi, I’ve tried a line Isolator and it made no difference. It almost seems like an impedance problem. Has anyone else has this problem when plugging into the effects send/return of a helix? Is there any type of device I could get to maintain the line impedance?
