I wonder if you put the Power Station PS2 in a rackmount does it need to have ventilation holes on the top. It seems like the Fryette Rack Head Case doesn’t have it. Just bought the PS2 so I want some easy way to transport it.
Hi @Mats.A and welcome to the forum,
The PowerStation fan pulls in air from the top so provided there is a little room for air flow it will be fine. We have zero reported issues of thermal issues with the rack mounting kit.
Hi!
Ok great to hear. It’s a fantastic piece of gear. I wonder why is it that it can handle 150W at 8 ohm when it’s 200W at 2/4 and 16 ohm?
All the best!
Mats

Power Station uses a a few high power resistors and connects them differently depending on the impedance selection. If just happens that then rating at 8 Ohm is 150W and at others it’s 200W.
Ok, but it will handle a Marshall 1959 SLP at full volume at 8 ohm also?

Yes, it’s designed with vintage amps in mind. Steve is a Hiwatt nut after all.
Thanks! It’s a fantastic piece of gear. It’s exactly what I’ve been dreaming of since I bought a Tom Scholz Power Soak in the 80’s and later a Marshall Power Brake. Now I can get any level and not just clicks not low enough to play at home.
