PS100 won't play with Victoria 20112

Just got the PS100 a few days ago. It’s fantastic. Works splendidly with an Amp Nation 100 W SSS and 50W ODR. I’m hearing them for the first time being able to find sweet spots. It’s GREAT with preamps/modelers. The fine tuning with Switches and Depth/Presence is unexpectedly superb. I’ve dialed in the best jazz tone I’ve ever gotten using a Milkman 100. Effects loop is sonically the best I’ve heard. OK enough fan boy…

I cannot get it to work with my 20112. It will pass sound through when bypassed or turned off so all the cables and amp are doing their thing. I assumed to set 8ohm for input and speaker no go. Quickly tried 2-4 and 16 ohm input, no go. I’ll contact Victoria as well. Thanks.

Hey Woodstove, welcome to the forum.

Glad to hear you’re (mostly) enjoying the PS-100. That it’s working well in every other circumstance tells me that we have to look at this specific amp hookup more closely.

First of all, if this is the only combo you’ve tried using with the PS-100, there is a good possibility that you simply have it connected in reverse. Indeed, the symptom you describe supports that possible conclusion.

The cable connected to the amplifier chassis must connect to the PS-100 AMP IN. The PS-100 Speaker Out must connect to the speaker in the combo or an external cab.

Don’t feel bad if this is the issue. It’s not uncommon for users to hook up a combo in reverse the first time.

Have a look at that and let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Dave

I totally get that. That’s the first question you have to ask. I’ve definitely got it set up correctly. Actually that fact was evident by the way I described it because when the PS 100 is off I’m hearing my guitar through the amp so it’s running a correct circuit.

Hi Woodstove,

Could there be anything in the FX loop? If FX send is connected but for some reason return is not returning, that could cause the no sound when in operation.

I’d also recommend going through the “no sound” checklist here. Take your time; it might sound silly to repeat these steps but the number of times I have thought something was connected fine and it wasn’t I don’t want to admit to.

Finally, you said it was working with your other amp. Logically this strongly suggests this is an issue with the combo or connections.

Thanks Dan- Its not the fx loop or any connection issue. I own a pro recording studio. I did a search and found this issue has occurred with 5e3 circuit amps reported in your forum with suggestion it may be an impedance mismatch. I tried all combinations. It would help if you could look into this if possible. The more I know about what the PS 100 issues have been with this type of amp the better when I talk to Victoria.

I just tested the Victoria with my Ox Box set to 8 ohms, works perfectly. There’s something wrong with the PS100, also set to 8 ohms, and not woking.

Unrelated but this might save someone a few minutes. Just received your footswitch. The PS100 was on channel 2 when I plugged the footswitch in and they did not pair. I unplugged it, set the channel to 1 and reconnected and it works fine.

PS 100 purchased 8/28/25 from Guitar Center, serial # PHCD254507

Problem Solved. User error, please don’t ask :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

No worries! Glad you are up and running

Thanks, Dan. Really appreciate how responsive you were. If you heard the whole story, you’d agree it’s a bit bizarre how I got fooled, but I’m moving on!
