Hello. New here and I’m trying to figure out if I can replace my PS1 with the PS100.
Is the line out level affected by the front panel volume controls? Basically, if I have an amp head connected, I then bring down the PS100 volume to zero, will that mute its line out as well? Or does the line out get the signal feed directly from the amp in? I read the manual, pg 5 item 2, but I am not clear on whether the signal goes from Amp In > front panel volume circuitry > Line Out Level > Line Out or just Amp In > Line Out Level > Line Out.
What I’m trying to do: I need to set a live cab in the room to a relatively quiet level while feeding another device/DAW with a full signal using the line out.
Another question. Is the line out level at unity when maxed? Or does it have some signal boost?
Thanks.
Hey, welcome to the forum!
The PS-2A and PS-100 have balanced and unbalanced Line Outs. These are controlled by a rear panel level pot which operates independently of the front panel volume control. The front panel volume sets the level of the sound coming out of the speaker cab connected to the speaker out of the unit.
This will allow you to operate the levels as you described.
The amount of signal level available at the Line Out is dependent on the amp connected to the AMP IN jack and how loud the settings are on that amp. So the Line Out is capable of a wide swing in output level. However, you can easily dial this in this from the rear panel Level control.
Hope that helps.

Awesome. Thank you, Dave. Sounds like I can replace my PS1 with it. Thank you for mentioning the PS2A as well; I totally overlooked that one. Looks like it’ll be better option for me than the 100, as I don’t need to switch master vol, pres, or depth controls.
Thanks!
