Hello all… newbie here.
Has anyone tried using a MIDI programmable foot switch to control (foot switchable) functions on the PS100 and/or GPDI/IR? …or are the Fryette switches proprietary?
Wondering if a generic 2 button MIDI programmable footswitch will work, so I can integrate with my Fractal VP4, and do some simultaneous stuffzz.
Thanks in advance !!
Hello ScooterD,
Welcome to the forum! You can most MIDI relay controllers on the market. Using a unit like the Voodoo Lab Control Switcher/Amp Commander linked below, it’ll give you the ability to control the channel and loop on the PS-100, and the MORE/LESS and external amp mode on the GP/DI-IR.
Thank You,
Terry
Thank you!
Quick question(s)
- Is the footswitch input TRS?, and would I need a TRS to dual TS split cable to make the Voodoo Labs unit work?
Hi Scooter,
Yes, just a standard TRS to Dual TS cable will work.
Thank You,
Terry
So any midi switcher that has 4 assignable relay outputs would work the same way…?
Sorry for beating the dead horse. Lol!!
Just looking for a controller that’s foot switchable, that I can also integrate with my Fractal VP4 (or other small multiFX unit)
Thanks a bunch!!
Hi Scooter,
Yes, absolutely. Two Suhr MicroMIDI Controllers, Axess Electronics CFX4, Custom Audio Electronics 4x4, RJM Music Mini Amp Gizmo, Voodoo Labs Control Switcher, etc… will all work to do this. The big point is having the isolated switching so you can run the switching on two units.
I like the Voodoo Labs unit for the price and functionality. The Suhr MicroMIDI is great too, but you’ll need two for your application. I’m sure there’s a good amount of units that will do this (GLab had a couple of options at one time), but these are the units I know work and are “tried and true”. I hope this helps.
Thank You,
Terry
Awesome… thanks for everything
You’s da best!
