I can’t use the PS-2A at the moment. When engaged as an attenuator, there’s just a bunch of staticy background noise and not much guitar signal coming through. I pulled the 6L6’s and 12AX7 from one of my amps that I know works and while it quieted down slightly, the issue is still there. I don’t want to dig around in there beyond swapping tubes. What are my options? I’ve had this for less than 5 years and I have my proof of purchase.
Hi SeanyG,
Welcome to the forum! We’re glad to have you!
Have you had a chance to go through our FAQ and Troubleshooting section? Most of these things can be worked out within those two areas.
If you are up for it, you can remove your top cover and take a well lit and detailed picture of the internals about 12" from the top of the chassis.
That’ll give us a good look at what’s going on inside.
Thank You,
Terry
Hi Terry. It powers on no problem. I assume if the mains fuse is toast, it won’t power on at all. I don’t have anything in the effects loop. There is sound, just barely though and I did adjust the volumes. As an AB test, I moved the 2 speaker cables to my Captor X and it works fine. I’ve gone through the rest of the troubleshooting list. I’ll grab that picture and see if I can grab a quick sound clip as well if it’s not too big to upload here.
Hi SeanyG,
There is a second fuse inside the Power Station. You’ll see it when you take the top off. Check that one as well. The unit will power on with that fuse blown. Also, listen to see if your fan runs as well.
Thank You,
Terry
Oh yeah. Fan works too.
Hi Seany,
Let me dig through these and we’ll see what we can find.
Thank You,
Terry
Thanks Terry. I tried a different scenario as well using an Origin Effects pedal as a preamp and a Strymon reverb both in and out of the effects loop. No sound at all other than static noise.
Hi Seany,
Have you tried just the preamp pedal into the effects loop? It shouldn’t make a difference but, just in case…
Thank You,
Terry
Hey Terry,
I’ll give that a try, BTW, you can call me Sean (Irish spelling of Shawn). You probably thought I had a pretty weird name.
Hi Sean,
I just thought you grew up like I did. No one ever uses your actual name… I get T, Ter, T-Bone, and Terrance when they’re angry… Hahaha.

Hey Terry. Still nothing running the preamp pedal into the Fryette effects return. Sorry, I forgot to mention this earlier. I had maxed out my number of posts for the day as a newbie to the forum.
