I know cranking a tube amp wears tubes faster than playing at low volumes…
That said…
Using the PS2A as an attentuator…
We’re running a cranked Amp into it… Does it put any more stress on the power tubes of the amp feeding the PS2A when your at bedroom level as opposed to having the Power Station turned up a little… Or in other words does more attenuation put more stress on the tubes of the amp going into the Power Station?
Hello Famunda and welcome to the community!
Does the volume setting on the PS-2A (or PS-100) affect the stress on the power tubes in your amp? No, they are independent. The only thing putting stress on your power tubes is your volume and gain knob.
