Hello everyone! I have a PS-100 related question. Can the silent recording mode be used to reamp a DI while the DI is being fed from the output of an interface (RME RE802) into a DI box with no cab? (Little Labs Redeye 3D in this case) or does the PS-100 always require a cab and use of the speaker output section to reamp? For added context, I’m wanting to reamp with my Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. My main goal is to reamp in silent mode while using IR’s. Thank you for any insight!
Hi @Slater97 and welcome to the forum!
If you are feeding the PS-100 with a line-level signal (from DI) then you can use self-attenuation mode in a silent recording setup and take the Line Out of the power station into your DAW for IR processing.
Take look here on how to do that.
Are you saying you are going to take an out from your RME to a reamp box and then to the input of the Triple Rec and then the speaker out of the Triple Rec into the Amp In of the PS-100 and you want to reamp silently? If so, you can just leave the PS-100 completely powered off with no cab connected to the Spkr Out. The XLR balanced Line Out gives you your amp signal that can be fed back into your audio interface. Then just load up an IR in your DAW. Silent reamping with IR via DAW.
