PS-100 Losing Sound and Distorting

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a PS-100 from MusiX, Switzerland to use with my Milkman Pedal Steel 85W head (serial number: PHIE255037), and I’m experiencing some issues. My setup is as follows: the amp output I’m using is the 4Ω, connected to the PS-100, which then goes to a 2×12 cabinet. Both impedances at the PS-100 are set to 4Ω.

The problem is that sometimes there is no sound at all, and other times the sound is distorted. If I turn the PS-100 off and on again, it works (it may or not) temporarily. After playing for around 15 minutes, it can start to slowly distort and lose volume again.

When I bypass the PS-100 entirely, the amp works perfectly fine. For context, I bought the PS-100 yesterday and have only played for about an hour in total.

Welcome to the forum!

That sounds like power is fading in the preamp or power tubes.
That could be a bad tube or an intermittent connector.

Have you contacted the dealer? It’s probably something minor that can be addrerssed quickly.

Today, the same thing happened after 15 mins of playing.
I have contacted them and will forward your suggestion. Do the technical support in EU contact you for details. I am asking in order to understand how the after-sales support works and how I can make it more efficient.
