I am running my PS-100 in the loop of my ZMACS. I have two ZMACS units linked for the max 7 amp 4 cabinet setup. I’m trying to choose what amps to incorporate without breaking anything in the rig.
I am looking to add a reissue Ampeg V4-B and an Ampeg 810 cabinet into my Fryette setup. The amp is 100 watts. The cabinet is 400 or 800 watt rms depending on dual or mono mode.
Is there any issue using such an amp with the Power Station or ZMACS?
If the the amp is an issue, anything wrong with using the cabinet through the ZMACS with different amps or without the PS-100?
I saw some posts about using the power station as a bass power amp or with higher rates amps and the issue with lower frequencies but wanted to be safe rather than sorry.
Perfect. I had seen some other posts regarding bass setups, but mine setup seemed a bit different so I wanted to make sure. Great to hear that I am good to use all my equipment together!
For the speakers, the plan is to run everything at 8ohms to match my PS-100 and the majority of my other amps and cabinets, so should be all good on that front then.
Do you have a 16 Ohm tap on your amps? I’m just thinking that as you are using a bass guitar, this would reduce the current dumped into the reactive load. It’s a minor point really.
Only some of my guitar amps have a 16 ohm option. The other guitar amps max out at 8 ohms. The Ampeg bass amp has only 2, 4, and 8 ohm options. I only plan on using the bass with Ampeg.
I also only use one guitar cabinet rated at 16 ohms. The rest are 8 ohms. Currently I use the 8ohm tap from all of my guitar amps and have the PS-100 in the ZMACS loop set at 8ohms for both amp and speaker.
Sorry one last thing - I looked over the 810 cab manual and to run all 8 speakers would be at 4 ohms.
Is there any issue running the Ampeg bass amp and bass cab both at 4 ohms? Would I have to make any adjustments to the PS-100 (currently set at 8 ohms both amp and cabinet) or ZMACS?
