Hi there,
brand new to amp troubleshooting so bare with me; my PS-2A stopped making sound seemingly without any noticeable prior issues about a week ago and i verified it was the only part of my signal chain with this issue. I have not retubed it since i purchased it in 2021 (not opposed lol just wanted to take the time to troubleshoot before i throw the money at it for them). first, i tried just replacing the internal fuse; but i turned the amp on, saw a green flash and still got no sound. both the fuse i replaced and fuse #2 had tiny scorch marks and the filament seemingly disappeared; the external fuse appears to be without signs of damage.
Hi @phyrexianmetal welcome to the forum!
If the PS-2A is blowing the internal fuses, then the most likely cause is the power tubes.
If you want to confirm this, you can replace the fuses again and remove the power tubes. Put the lid back on before applying power! The unit is not safe to use open. If the tubes are the problem, then the fuses should not blow.
