Powerstation 1 4cable method with line out to Fractal FM9

Hi, i have the first edition of the Powerstation, i am using it at home mostly to attenuate my amps and to run my post effects in the PS loop. I’ve been using the Fractal FM9 4 cable method to be able to put effects in front of my amps and post, that works great… Now i just wanted to use my amps with impulse response from the Fractal, so i took the line out from PS to input 2 of the Fractal, and just created a cab block, it works, but the thing is that i am getting some sound from the real cab even if i mute say out 3 in the chain, the only way just to get the sound from my monitors is to unplug SPEAKER OUT OF THE PS, actually leaving it plug from PS but just unplug from the cab input, cause if i unplug cab from PS cab out, it puts the ps in bypass mode.

My question, does my amp still sees the load, or i can damage the amp, thank you

As long as the volume knob on PowerStation is at zero it’s safe to unplug the SPKR OUT when in OPERATE. There is no power running through the tubes, just a little signal bleed due to everything being in a small box.

However

  • :warning: in BYPASS PowerStation connects your amp to the SPKR OUT, so never run in BYPASS or your amp will be unloaded
  • :warning: if PowerStation volume knob gets bumped and goes above zero this will likely cause a something to break.
  • :high_voltage: you can but be very careful.

Thanks, i won’ t take a chance and just live with the sound bleed from the cab !
