Power Station PS-2A Crackling and popping

After a few months with the Power Station PS-2A (love this thing so much) it seems like one or more tubes might be faulty. There is a crackling and popping coming from the cab it’s connected to. I’m running a Marshall SV20H into the Power Station. All connections are correct. Disabling the Power Station silences the crackling so it’s not coming from the Marshall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It seems I’m past the warranty for tubes (8 months since purchased new). I’d like to get a recommendation for power tubes though if possible. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

We use a variety of powert tubes in the PS-2A since they are pretty forgiving across all brands and they don’t make a big defference in performance due to the design of the power amp.

So pretty much any good quality brand will be fine. We use JJ a lot and generally have good results with them, so that would be my recommendation. Amplified Parts has a pretty good price on thise at the moment.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Dave. I’m in Canada and Next Gen is my go to for tubes. I’m assuming the phase inverter tube is fine. Static type crackling and popping is usually an indicator of a bad power tube correct?
