Hey how’s it going. I have used a couple combo amps with the fryette ps2a. One is a 5 watt savage audio amp. The other is a fender 59 bassman reissue tweed combo. On both amps when I turn the amp volume (not ps2a volume) passed 4-5 the power station is extremely muddy. It doesn’t sound anywhere to what the amps sound cranked up. Any tips or know of any issues it might be?
Welcome to the forum!
It could be because your pick attack is heavier using the Power Station than it would be with the amp running wide open. When you play at a “safe” or very low volume, you’re much less likely to back off on pick attack, which means the amps input will get hit much harder, overdrive the front end more and overload the amps power amp stage with more low end much.
It would help to kow what guitar you’re using, along with any active pedals, and how you’re listening to the amp when attenuated.

Hey thanks for the response. I plug straight into the amp..no pedals, effects, etc. I have a couple guitars I have played through it. Richie kotzen tele…no mods done to it. Also a fender custom shop Esquire with a blackguard bridge pickup. The power station sounds great when it’s straight up clean tone.
