My PS-100 has just started making several sporatic popping noises over the last month when I first turn it on. It is getting progressively worse. I have had it for about 2 years and never changed the tubes. It sounds like it did the day I got it, but I am worried I could cause a bigger more expensive problem if I don’t address the issue.
Thoughts?

Do these occur intermittently? Sometimes this kind of thing can be because the amp needs to be in standby for a few minutes before going into operate mode.
I would start by replacing the pre-amp tube, it’s a 12DW7/ECC832 (not a 12AX7/ECC83).
I think it’s OK to put in a 12AX7 just to see if the pops go away, if you wanted to do that before buying a replacement 12DW7. Turn everything on as normal, just don’t play through it.
