PLIR smells like it is burning

I’ve had my PLIR for about a year. I enjoy it.

It works fine for my 30 W amps and 50 W.

When running a 100 W amp it smells like the thing is burning up. It was so bad yesterday that my spouse came downstairs wondering what was on fire.

Has anyone experienced this?

Welcome to the forum!

If you dime a 100W tube amp for an extended period of time, you’d likely smell hot components. Depends on the amp and settings.

Check to make sure the fan is spinning just to confirm that the cooling ir working.

Thank you for the welcome and thank you for the tip.

The fan ran intermittently, though it really did smell. I did a few takes on my recording platform and then shut it all off unfortunately.
