Pairing Fryette and Sound City 2x12 cabs

So I have a SC 2x12 with Fanes, which are of course front loaded. I’ve been thinking about getting a Fryette (Deliverance) 2x12, also with Fanes (rear loaded) in 2026 for various use cases. One would be simple ‘solo’ use of the Fryette 2x12 in stereo mode, w/o any other cabs. Another use would be pairing the Fryette with the Sound City for power handling a 100 watt amplifier (possibly one side of a 2/90/2, or the SC Master 100).

My question…since the Deliverance 2x12 is rear-loaded and the SC 2x12 is front-loaded, this would cause phase issues if one attempted to mic a speaker from each cab, wouldn’t it? And if not when miking, somewhere in the room? Thoughts? I like the idea of 2 slightly different voicings from different cab architecture, but maybe they can’t be used together in the way I’m describing.

(I’m sure someone will say ‘just get a 4x12’ but my car can’t accommodate that…and for a host of other reasons, the 2x12 format is better for me.)

How old is your cab?

The current production SC212 is rear loaded, in which case there would be no phase issues.

Not 100% sure…purchased an open box from Musician’s Friend on 1.2.2025 and it’s currently at a friend’s house (rehearsal room) who is on vacation. I will try to look at the serial # and get back to you.

No need. That’s a current model and it is rear loaded.
