Using a Soldano X88-IR into the PS-100. The tone is very thin and the power appears to be lower than expected power levels. The preamp appears to be functioning properly. Any ideas as to the causes? Thanks.

What’s the history of the PS-100, when did you purchase it, etc.? how many hours are on the tubes?
If you have an amp, try doing an A/B comparison with the amp and the PS-100 with a simplified setup: Amp → PS-100 → Cab (no FX). Get the volume levels the same and toggle between OPERATE and BYPASS. Does the PS-100 still sound thin?
The unit is relatively new. Less than an hour on the tubes. I will try the A/B test and set it up per your recommendations. I’ll let you know. Was it Gil at NAMM this year? I was the one talking with Steve, Gil and another at length about different amps. Thanks.
