I am currently routing my instrument level signal into a Synergy Syn-2,
processing the signal with a synergy preamp module,
then going with the Syn-2 Balanced Line Out into my RME UFX III Interface,
and back via the Interface Line Out to the PS-100 Line In.
Finally, the Signal is sent back to the Interface via the PS-100 balanced line out for recording.
I am utilizing the PS-100 in self attenuating mode.
My question is if the peak level of the signal going to the PS-100 Line In should ideally be at Unity Gain (0db) and at what recommended Input Sensitivity (+4dBu)?
Hello, Please explain why you are sending the signal through your interface twice? I’m sorry if I’m missing something obvious but it would seem that you would want to run the signal from your Syn-2 directly into the PS-100 then into your audio interface.
To answer your question; since the signal is line level it’s best to use your ears to dial in a healthy amount of signal level without any unwanted clipping.
Please let me know if I can assist you in any way.
Cheers! Gil
Gil,
Thanks for asking. The reason being is that I have two Syn-2’s and a Soldano Amp Head in my setup which I would like to run through the PS-100. Daisy chaining the Syn-2’s, as recommended in the manual, resulted in a significant level loss between the master and slave Syn-2 units. Also, adding them to the FX Loop of Soldano did not really result in the best results. Now I am running all three through the interface and routing to the PS-100. Can you suggest an alternative?
