Hi guys, I’m new here.
I recently purchased a PS2 second hand, carefully read the manual, but when I tried the unit yesterday, everything seems to function perfectly when the unit is powered on, but not sure the silent mode works correctly.
I had understood that the unit didn’t need to be powered on to “attenuate” and work as a silent adjustable reactive load, but with my unit, putting the switch in Operate or Bypass gives me exactly the same result (= Bypass) … I get the full sound out of my cab.
Am I doing something wrong or did I misunderstood the doc ?
Thanks for your feedback and have a great day,
Taco
Welcome to the forum Taco.
For Silent Mode to work, you just need to set the unit to Bypass and disconnect the speaker cable from the PS Speaker Out jack.
See manual page 9:

If you’re loading a small amp (up to 50W), you can usually get away with leaving the power off as well. Just make sure the PS doesn’t get too hot when it’s powered off because the fan won’t be running.
