No sound 2502 basic routing

Hi, I purchased a brand new 2502 and used it in both mono and stereo setups the last couple days without any problems, Today i am unable to get any sound. All fuses look good. To rule out a pedalboard issue, I went guitar =>synergy pre-amp instrument input =>.main out (mono) to 2502 Ch A input. => "use first ChA speaker out. (yes, I took it off standby) Impedance is set to 16 ohm and cab is 16 ohm. I even swapped speaker cables and instrument cables to rule out a cabling issue. What am i missing? I’ve triple checked everything.

Update - I can get sound when I run from the Synergy Syn2 mono out to Channel B on the 2502 but there is no sound when running Mono out to Channel A. Is this normal or do I have a problem with Channel A? On the back the 2502 it says MONO next to channel A so I assumed ChA would be for mono operation. Maybe bad tube(s) that feed channel A?

After re-examining fuses under better lighting, I found the ChA fuse was bad. So yeah that’s a little embarrassing.

Nice one @dpbahar congrats on fixing it and coming back to tell us – welcome!

Thanks @dan! Really enjoying it and pleased with my choice! However, the Channel A fuse has blown again. At rehearsals I run both channels and it’s all good, but when returning home and running mono (both times) I’ve found the Channel A fuse is blown. I connect everything through a Radial 2 surge protection. Do I have faulty power tubes?

It’s possible or it could be something is starting to fail in the amp. If you have a spare set of EL34s then you could run them for a bit (you just need two for channel A for testing).

Probably, I’d buy a set of EL34s (it’s always good to have a backup set) and put them in. And if I continue to have problems, then I’d drop it off to a local tech to have a look at. Or, if you prefer, you could arrange to have a tech look at it. It’s your call.

Hey Dan,

Thanks. Im taking it to a friend that used to work at Soldano. He has a tube tester and can help me troubleshoot. Will be in touch later this week.

Thanks,
Patrick
