There are typically two import line levels when dealing with guitar gear:
Level | Voltage | dBu |
---|---|---|
Instrument | 77.5 mV RMS | -20 dBu |
Line | 1.23 V RMS | +4 dBu |
Instrument level is the approximate level produced by guitar pickups (this can vary greatly, so treat this as a ballpark figure).
Line level is the voltage that an output should generate so that it can connect to an input with the highest fidelity (there is a bit more to it that that but let’s just stick with levels for now).
The Power Station Line In is designed to work with line-level signals.
When using a modeller connected to the Line In ensure that it is not outputting an instrument-level signal.
