My fryette ps100 powers on, but there is no sound when I switch it to operate. The fuse in the back looks ok, but it could be a bad fuse, still? I bought it through guitar center. I really rather not return it and wait for another one. I get sound when the ps100 is bypassed. That’s how I came up with it possibly being a bad fuse.
Hi @Rushgibson2112 and welcome to the community
Take a look at this “no sound” section in troubleshooting guide this is also available on the PS-100 User Manual.
It is probably not a bad fuse if you can see the internal wire is intact. However it is better to check with a multimeter for continuity.
Also check this video, it shows you how to check the internal fuses too, How do I change the tubes and fuses in the Power Station when these blow the problem is normally bad tubes.
Check all of that can come back, let us know what you find and we can take it from there.

I just don’t understand why would anything be wrong with it… especially since its new. Assuming someone was being rough with it while shipping it? Or the drive wasnt careful while handling it?
I appreciate the reply. I’ll check out the info you gave me.
Hi,
What do you see when you power it on? To the tube’s heaters turn on, does the green light on the switch illuminate?
In haste!
Dan
Everything turns on. Yes. Tubes and heaters turn on. Green switch also turns on. Everything lights up, as it should. Probably just a defective peice of gear? I get signal and sound in bypass mode, just not in operation mode.
Hey. Just wanted to let you guys know, i ended up returning the ps100. For a new one. I’m hoping this one that is coming, will work better and that I don’t have to return this new one. You guys have great products. Just a bummer that the other one didn’t work correctly.
Hi Rush,
Yes, that is really disappointing - sorry about that! We would like to know what went wrong, maybe you could ask the dealer to get in touch with Fryette if they have not yet done so.
Have fun with the PS-100 when it arrives!
Regards,
Dan
I just didn’t feel like messing with it. Especially since it was supposedly new. It should work right out of the box. Well. I got it through guitar center. I went back to them to return it. Apparently, also… guitar center said it was back in stock… then shortly after… like around the same day. I got a email from guitar center, saying they were sorry that they thought it was back in stock. How does that happen. To get misinformed? Anyway. I guess they said. They’ll let me know when I’ll be shipped. Guess we’ll see what happens.
Pfft… again sorry to hear how unlucky you have been this time. Keep in touch.
Thank you. I will. I appreciate the reply
Was it good after that? Same exact thing happened to me, and the parts request link won’t take me to the next page after I say I’m not a robot. Debating on the return as well, but I’ve heard a lot about defects in the ps series. I’m hoping that since there is none in stock, I would have to wait a month, but hoping they would of fixed whatever issue has been happening with people
I had to return like two or three of them…then finally got a decent one( knock on wood)
That’s so nerve racking lol. I believe in this product but how am I supposed to trust it lol. Did you get replacement parts from them? (Which they seem very willing to do so that’s good) or did you return for a new one? How long have you had this one for?
It is lol trust me…right? Lol nope. I just got the one channel one and it works pretty well. The one I have now, I’ve had for a few months or so. Can’t remember atm lol. But knock on wood…it’s seems to be ok..for now, anyway…
