Marshall Running on 2 PowerTubes, Ps-100 impedance confusion

So when I acquired this Randy Rhoads Head it only had 2 power tubes in it

The gentleman who owned it before was a collector had a bunch of nice Marshall’s. I’m assuming he had it configured this was cause this thing is LOUD AF!!!

So I bought a Fryette ps100 and I wanna connect it all.

BUT I’m super confused as to wat amp impedance I need to set the ps100 too for the amp selector on the back

From my understanding cause the Marshall is running on 2 power tubes instead of the 4 if I’m using a 16ohm cab my impedance on the head needs to be set to 8ohms. I totally understand that part

BUT now with the ps100 envolved Chat GPT says on the back of the ps100 the amp impedance needs to be set to 16ohms

I just wanna make sure I’m not gonna blow my shit up!!! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, with two power tubes pulled, your actual output impedance will be twice what is written on the back of the amp. So if amps says 8 Ohms then you should use 16 Ohms.

You will be fine, 8 Ohm power rating of PS-100 is 150W and with two power tubes your amps is around 50W (but it will be a bit more). So all good.
