Loose "On" and "Operate" switches on a new PS-100

I just got a new Power Station PS-100 from Musicians Friend (the sticker inside says it was inspected May 18, 2026). The power switches are a little loose, with about 1/16" of wiggle on the “On” switch and slightly less wiggle on the “Operate” switch. Is there a way to tension the switch assembly so that it is flush against the chassis? Here is a photo of the PS-100 switch assembly from the front.

For reference, on my Power Station PS-2A both switches are tight and flush.

That’s for the really helpful video. This is a deep factor / production team question. So I really don’t know if they changed the part recently or if they think this is an issue or not. Please standby I’ll try and get you an answer…

There’s nothing to be concerned about based on your photo. The switch is a snap-fit part and there is always a little tolerance on the switch hole cutout, but the switch locking mechanism will prevent the switch from wiggling any further or popping out. We do check for that in QC and we OK it if it’s within tolerance.

I dunno… seems too loose to me. Are there other Power Stations on your shelves that have switches like this?

How about the rest of the Forum denizens… anybody else have a loose switch?

I just heard from Fryette Support, and they want me to send this back to Musicians Friend, where they will no doubt sell it to somebody else. It sucks to be that other person… BUT… I’m actually that other person right now. Sent it back, so somebody else can deal with it.

You mean the support email, was that Dave also?

Maybe its the same Dave. The email just says Dave and is from “Support.” Anyhow, I sent the thing back to Musicians Friend instead of fixing it.

I started to realize that this unit may have been sold and returned more than once, and is likely more damaged than just a loose switch that Fryette doesn’t want to deal with. And if Fryette doesn’t want to replace a switch that’s connected with spade connectors, I wouldn’t feel comfortable relying on a warranty. EDIT I got another PS-100 from Sweetwater. It arrived in perfect condition.**
