The 1/4" and balanced line outs on my PS-100 are extremely noisy. I don’t have any measurements, but I had another PS-100 that did not have this issue. Wiggling the jack on the 1/4" output creates crackling noises and also creates fairly extreme difference in output level. This happens with any cable.
I have also had issues with the signal radiating at a significant volume from the unit. I was told this was normal but my other PS-100 did not do this and now this unit has stopped doing it. I was also getting fizz in the output which has stopped. The output jack noise issues and the other noise issues starting and stopping make me wonder if there is an issue in the unit.
Sorry to hear you are having problems with the PS-100.
The 1/4" Line Out jack on the back of the Power Station is unbalanced. You would need to use an XLR cable and connect for an balanced connection.
However, it does sound like that jack socket might be fault - sounds like a loose connection because wiggling the jack could not cause any crackling noises or output level changes.
Regarding the radiating noise, I am not use where this is coming from:
Inside the unit (i.e. power transformer, output transformer and inductor will all vibrate with guitar signal frequency)?

Hey Dan,
The unit has been running quietly lately. It seems weird to me that the issues have come and gone.
I’ll recap the symptoms.
Amp master Volume past noon caused a sizzling sound through the amplifier speakers. The PS100 also emitted a high frequency replication of the guitar signal from the unit itself. I understand this is normal to a degree, but this was loud. I could easily hear it from 10 feet away sitting in front of studio monitors at a fairly high level. It’s like the unit could not handle the higher input levels from the amp.
The inconsistent output levels and crackling from the output jack. I verified this was not a cable issue. At one point turning the output level knob had no effect on the output signal.
All of these issues have disappeared. Does this make any sense to you? Should I send the unit to be inspected or let it ride? I don’t want to get outside of warranty and start having problems again. This is my second PS100, the first one had none of these issues.
