Issue loading IRs into GPDI/ir

Is there a specific naming scheme that is required to load ir’s properly or characters/lengths of names to avoid? For some reason I can’t get any of my ir’s to load properly into the gpdi. I used the same naming (starting in bank 2 ie starting each one with the number of bank and number of preset) scheme as the built-in ir’s and they don’t seem to load. I am using 1024 sample ir’s converted at 48khz and 24 bit. They all work in my other ir loaders including synergy syn20ir. I also was able to reload the default banks in without an issue so I am able to load something in.

Thanks in advance!

Howie

Hi Howie,

Here’s an excerpt for loading the IRs. Please let me know if this helped.

Thank You,

Terry

Hi Terry

I tried that and they didn’t load. So those slots have no ir loaded despite having the impulse response stored on the unit. But when I retried the original files it worked fine which is why I thought it might be a naming issue.

Hi hbb2025,

Probably the .wav file format you are uploading into the GPDI/IR is not supported. They .wav files need to be 24-bit, 48kHz, mono. Also, remove any metadata from the file; we have seen problems with that before. Use this converter application and see if that fixes things.

Will do and will report back. Btw any specific file name structure needed?

Bank 3 & 4 (folders 2 & 3) are where you should add your own IRs. By default, they are duplicates for Bank 1 and 2. Copy the files overs and rename them to match the convention you see.

I was able to load my ir’s but the app that you suggested to convert files didn’t work with most of mine but when I loaded them into mixir3 and exported it worked perfectly. Just reduced the length to 22 msec, mono, 48khz and zero issues once I added the requisite file number to the beginning of the file.

Btw as an aside to any folks on the fence - the gpdi/ir is fantastic! Very easy to dial a wide range of rock and hard rock tones. Outstanding feel and I was able to get some nice cleans as well. Very happy with the purchase (and great support here).
