My 50 powerstation has started making an almost cricket sounding noise. I’ve obviously noticed the fan before but this seems different and the tubes are rather blue. Could be a coincidence.

I can see the orange heater elements in the tubes, but is the usually gray metal plate in there glowing red or orange too? It was hard to see. How is the sound? I have had tubes working fine with a blue glow like that, but they were towards the end of their life. Do you hear the crickets through the speakers or is it acoustic?

It sounded like it’s coming from the fan area. You obviously have the fan noise which I’m used to hearing but this crackle/cricket noise is ontop of the fan noise. One thing to note is that it only starts once the Fryette is off standby and actually on. It could be completely unrelated and there this whole time l. The blue tubes may have made me develop new hearing. But I don’t believe the fan was making that noise before ha!
