Is cyclops for me if

So I’m considering the cyclops however currently only using:

  1. quad cortex
  2. mesa mark vii
  3. ps2a

Now when I use the mesa mark vii I have a separate set of effects I use exclusively for it, so currently the fx loop on my ps2a is not needed for the actual amp.

For now I’ve been using the fx return for the quad cortex to power up with powerstage but do I need the cyclops if I just intend to leave the quad plugged into the fx return and use either the mark vii or quad one at a time (i.e. never power both on same time)? I believe when I plugged the quad into the preamp line in, it would cut the amp signal until I unplugged it

Welcome to the forum!

You need the Cyclops if you want to select between a head and a preamp on the fly. In this case the QC qualifies as a preamp.

If you never need to select between the amp and QC without disconnecting cables, you don’t need the Cyclops.
